Allianz understands the vital role our products play in your clients' lives. That's one reason we regularly monitor our products to ensure that we are keeping up with industry trends, regulatory changes, competitive developments, and your clients' needs.

As you'e probably aware, sales of stand-alone LTCi products have been declining across the ndustry; yet the need for LTCi protection is increasing. In light of these facts - and our strategic product review - we are changing our approach to the LTCi market.

Beginning November 13, 2009, we will stop selling stand-alone LTCi products, and will instead focus on exploring competitive combination annuity/LTC and life/LTC products.

We will honor our commitments to our current LTCi policyholders. Their policy guarantees will not be affected.

We will not accept new LTCi applications after November 13, 2009. All pending LTCi business must be issued in force by January 29, 2010.

As we enter 2010, we will promote our competitive life insurance policies with the LTC rider, and will continue to explore additional combination products.
